Day Two

BLUE GROUP

September 27, 2018

On the second day, we woke up around 6:30 a.m to get ready for the day. After everyone was ready, we gathered in the common area with cups of hot chocolate and hung out and talked while we waited for breakfast to be ready. The breakfasts at Cardigan are SO GOOD!!! I loved the food a lot! After everyone helped to clean up after the meal, we would go outside and meet with our groups and talk about where we would hike.

Our group said we would hike to the top of Firescrew and then cross over to Mt. Cardigan. The hike up to Firescrew was exhausting, but definitely worth it! The views at the top of the smaller mountain were breathtaking. We had a quick snack break, and then continued our trek up to Cardigan.

The hike up cardigan was even steeper than the hike up Firescrew. At some points, we had to climb with our hands and feet. At the very top, it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. There was a nice, refreshing breeze that cooled us off. We did a sketch of the fire tower and then we did a sketch of the glorious mountain ranges that towered in front of us. We all got into a massive group and took a photo that now hangs in the hallway of our school. The hike down was a little easier than the hike up, but you have to control how wide your steps are, or else you would go too fast and fall down! Our group was the first one to get to the lodge. We sat there and talked about the things we saw while we waited for the other groups to get back. Once we were allowed to go inside, I immediately ran to the showers before anyone else got there. Once showered, I met up with the rest of my friends and we played card games, told stories, and laughed at each others jokes. After dinner, we all went outside and sat around a fire. We then performed skits about the day we had and exaggerated most things to make it funnier. After that, we went back inside to our bunks. My friends and I stayed up for a couple more hours before eventually going to bed.
