If I had to describe Cardigan with one word it would be nature. You are always surrounded by nature. from the wood floors to the giant forest. Fall hits a little earlier, so the leaves are already starting to turn. It is a bit moist in the morning but get dryer during the day. The mountain looms in the distance casting a shadow on the camp. As you get higher on the mountain the trees get shorter, becoming bushes. There are giant pudddles at the top collected from the rain.

Just west of welton state forest, east of the the top of cardigan mountain and south of Groton.

The trails leading through are easy to spot, some overgrown. But still visible. The lodge takes up a bit of space there is a big yard behind it. Then there is a fire pit around it. There is a store, bathroom inside, as well as a kitchen and bunks.
