On the third and final day, it was very cold, with a high of roughly 45 degrees Fahrenheit. This was made even colder, as my group was staying by a pond for about 45 minutes to an hour, drawing little critters in the water. It was pretty miserable. Because these little critters in the water were taken out of the water to be more easily drawn, this would Human-Environment Interaction, because we (humans) were taking the bugs out of the water, and changing the environment of the small pond, by moving around the bugs. Also, the environment was (temporarily) affecting us (some people more than others), but that will be mentioned later.
After that, we moved on to a very short and brief walk. That walk took us to ANOTHER body of water, a stream, where we had to draw the stream. If you look at the images below, you will see that there are no sketches of any stream. That is because it was so cold outside. It also happened to be raining. So, as the rain was pummeling everyone, I was next to a stream, making things colder, and I was supposed to be drawing.
Needless to say, I didn’t do any sketching there, as there was nothing other than the stream to sketch, and my group went on a short nature walk. If you remember from early, I mentioned that I would mention later how the environment was changing us. Well, It's that time now. The environment was affecting us because it was cold and rainy, which was making people not feel like saying anything, which was pretty good sometimes because people have the ability to be annoying.
We ended up getting back at the lodge before we needed to and were presented with two choices. One was to go on another nature walk, and the latter was to stay near the lodge and play games. If you guessed that more people voted to go on a walk, you are horribly wrong, and if I recall correctly, the vote was unanimous to just stay and play games. One of these games was camouflage, a game where one person stands in an area, with their eyes closed, and everyone else hides in the general area. The person in the center counts to 30 seconds, and once that time is up, they point out everyone that they see and count to 30 again once they are done, and people find a new hiding place. The same thing happens again. This is followed by everybody who still hasn’t been caught running up and trying to tag the person in the center. Anyway, these games were followed by going inside and eating lunch with another group. We then waited for all of the other groups to get back, and by that time the bus was there to take everyone back to the school. The ride on the bus was very uneventful and boring.
Sadly, when I got home, I discovered that most of my stuff was soaked, which was very obnoxious. Luckily for me, my sketchbook didn’t get touched by the water, and that is why the sketches on this page and the others do not look to be on waterlogged paper.
