The Following Section(s) Will Tell You About Cardigan Mountain

Mt. Cardigan is in the towns of Orange and Alexandria in western New Hampshire. The relative location of the mountain is to the east of the center of the town of Orange by about 3 miles and to the north-west of the center of the town of Alexandria by about 6.5 miles. The absolute location of the summit of Mt. Cardigan is 43.648599° North and 71.915527° West (or -71.915527°). Its elevation is 3156 feet.

Mt. Cardigan is a mountain in New England that is 3000 something feet tall. Most of it is covered in trees and other things like bushes and shrubs. The top of the mountain is bare and has astonishing views of the surrounding area. You may be thinking that this is like any other non-4000-footer in New Hampshire. No. Cardigan, although technically not a 4000-footer, it feels like one because of the exceptionally bare and cold summit.

Cardigan mountain in the towns of Orange and Alexandria, New Hampshire has many trails for hiking and skiing. Because of how bare the summit is, instead of using blazes painted on trees to show hikers where to go, there is a considerably large amount of cairns (piles of rock that show people where to go) to lead the way. At the base on the Alexandria side, there is a lodge where hikers/skiiers can stay. There are signs posted around the mountain showing people where trails are.

I (along with about 45 other students) were at Cardigan on Sunday 092318, Monday 092418, and Tuesday 092518.
