Yellow Group, D2B2

On day 1...

Once our group got to the camp, we hopped off the bus and quickly unpacked. After that, we the whole group went up into the nearby clearing, and played many outside activities such as "Everyone's it" or "Sharks and Minnows". Once the short-lived festivities were over, lunchtime was upon us. We ate, and then we got our first look at the inside the AMC Lodge. Paired up with my coolest friends as bunk mates, I knew it was going to be at least a semi-decent time. (Honestly, the best part was my friend's cards that he brought, we played many games on this trip.) Soon after, we were put into our hiking groups that we would have for the three days. We played more games, ones such as "Boop the Shmoop", which inevitably lead to our hiking group being called something that contained shmoop and another word, which I have recently forgotten due to it only being stated once in the whole cardigan trip. Soon, we left home base to go on our first hike. I was elected as the group leader, and lead the group onward, toward the nature trail, our inevitable destination.

The area around Mt. Cardigan is a semi-hilly region (theme hint) with many mountains. Mostly part large forest area, this place also has some small bodies of water, such as a couple streams.

At first, we took the route that travels by the pond, and quickly went forward. The hike only lasted around half an hour. The nature trail was a very tree-y area with many leaves on the ground, even though it just became fall, like, two days ago. There were various things along the way that we sketched, such as a fallen tree I sketched and a plot study that we made in our group. We didn't see much life other than the trees, plants and mushrooms along the way, though. Soon, we got back to the lodge, and we had some free time. After dinner, it was then time for night time activities. Mr. Woolner then read us a couple of stories, one of which was about Blackbeard, the pirate. After that, we went to bed, and except for being scolded by a particular adult a couple times, all was semi-decent, as I expected.

Here are some sketches I made on day 1:
