Cardigan Location

Mount Cardigan is located at: 43 Degrees North, 33 Minutes, 58.1 Seconds and 071 Degrees West, 52 Minutes, 40.5 Seconds

It is in Orange, about 7 miles South South East from Dorchester, and about 6 miles North North East from Grafton. It is located in the middle of NH, except it is more towards the west side. Also, it neighbors Mnt Firescrew and the Welton Falls National Forest. And it is in the United States, obviously.

Description of Cardigan

Mount Cardigan has many a physical feature, which includes stuff like the waterfall, the pond, the streams, and the fungi(SHROOMS). I guess I could say the Mountain its self, too, but that would be kind of cheeky. Another attribute I want to mention, not necessarily on Cardigan, would be the alpine bog on top of the neighboring mountain, Mount Firescrew. Also, the waterfall is not really on the mountain, either. It is in the Welton Falls State Forest, just East of Mount Cardigan.

So I told you about most of the physical/natural features of the mountain. Now I shall review the CULTURAL stuff. Cultural, meaning man-made or prompted, in this case refers to things like the AMC Lodge(super neat, by the way), the trails, and the parking lot. Some other cultural attributes of Mount Cardigan are the port-a-potties, the crew bridge, and the closed Fire Watchtower at the summit, from which the fire tornado was spotted. Oh, and the abandoned shack, too.

We where there for 3 days.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.
