The first thing that happened on Mount Cardigan in Orange, New Hampshire, New England, East Coast, United States of America, Northern Hemisphere, Earth, was me and the two Matts getting awoken at about 7:00 AM. We went downstairs before breakfast and waited on the couches for it to begin. Breakfast was good; I cannot recall what it was, though. After that, we packed bags and split off into our groups. While the rest of the groups departed onto the hiking trails, MY group had to wait about an hour for a chaperone to arrive. When we DID start the hike, it was pretty nice. We passed a sign that declared the entrance to Cardigan State Forest, another region in the area. Not to far up the trail, we came to our first land mark, the Crew Bridge. The bridge itself was very nice, but something of that proportional size probably was not necessary for the size of the stream it bordered. On the way up, I spotted many interesting looking Shrooms. Near the top, Jack found an old ladder on the side of the trail. Our designated crew member, Emma, carried it to the summit. Close to the top, we stopped near an old shack where the fire watchers used to stay. At the summit, aka the Alpine zone(because there were no trees), we had lunch next to the old fire tower and enjoyed the view. The hike back down was pretty much the same as the hike up, except we happened upon some other groups. Back at the bottom, we had free time in which me and the Matt C had fun in the bunk room while Matt D strummed his guitar. After dinner, we went outside and goofed around with some of the other boys while the crew got the fire going. At the campfire, we did skits and had oreos. And after that, bedtime.
We where there for 3 days.
