Day 2 at Cardigan Lodge was the day my group was going to hike Cardigan and Firescrew. All the way up and down the two mountains showed signs of Humans changing Environment, like the trails that allowed us to hike the mountains in the first place. Cardigan had a run-down shack at the bottom of the big rock summit. The boarded-up shack was probably a material storage place, if there was a fire close to the tower, the firefighter(s) could grab gear and fight it by themselves. The summit of Firescrew was probably too heavily wooded for any firetower to be built there. So the builders built the tower on the higher mountain (Cardigan),where there are a less number of trees because of the elevation. Also, on the trails that we went down Cardigan on a ski trail, there was a tiny sled hut where if a skier got hurt, they could sled themselves down the treacherous trails
