How does/can this relate to you, your life, your community?
I went on a long road trip around the country and that is like the long jounrney that Columbus went on to find Asia. Of course he did not but he thought he did.
I wonder question
How did all the ships contact each other becuase there was no phones but they could not yell to the other ships because there voice would be nothing to the waves on the ocean.
In the first picture three ships set off to the canary. Two of the ships had square sails wile the third had a triangle sail. It took a long time for them to get to the canary because the triangle ship went slower then the square sails.

I feel bad for the six people going with Columbus. They had no idea of what was happening. Also they are taking them right from there home.

I feel that if Columbus did not do this epic journey, we would be 20 to 100 years behind from were we are now.

This event makes me laugh a hardy laugh when Columbus thought that the gold was in China but really it was in the middle of Cuba.

What impact will/could this have on your life, your community, the world?
This trip made it so Cuba and others knew about Asia, Europe and Africa and vice versa. This event impacted everyone in the world. It helped us under stand that there are others out there.
I Wonder Question:
Did they ever change the name for the islanders/natives.
On there way back they got to a place with no wind. They were stuck there for a long time, but after the wind picked up a few weeks after a storm rolled in. The ships got seprated and massive damage was done to the ship, so they had to dock at land owned by thier enemy. They pulled straws to see who would have to go out and talk. Columbus got the shortest stick twice, so he had to go out. He convinced the enemy to give him food and water and materials to repair but when they got back they had to go see the enemys king instead of going strait home, so he did. After some time all ships returned.
