The third day at Mt. Cardigan started early in the morning with a breakfast of fruit, meat, toast and hot chocolate. After breakfast we went upstairs to prepare for a half day of hiking and sketching since it was our last day at Mt. Cardigan which is in the Lakes region. Regions are areas, defined by some characteristics. For example, Hopkinton is located in the region of Merrimack County. That morning we also had to pack up all of our stuff and only leave out what we needed for the day because we were leaving that afternoon. After I was done getting ready I headed out to our regular meeting place of the rock in front of the lodge and on my way there I dropped my bags off at Mr. Woolners trailer. When our entire group was there we started off on the trail.

My favorite place that we went that last day was the waterfall with the cliff that looks out onto it. When we stopped at the falls we broke out a thing of spicy cracker trail mix and I almost ate the whole thing because nobody else wanted any. During the last part of the hike Andy had us do an activity where somebody starts hiking on their own and then you have to wait two minutes until the next person can go and eventually everybody goes and gets to the same destination. When the hike was over and we went back to the lodge we weren't allowed to go upstairs because they were cleaning.

As we came back to the lodge we ate our lunch and hung out until every group was back and we were ready to head out and go home back to Hopkinton. As we boarded the bus and found our seats the environmental instructors waved goodbye and we were off. The ride was about an hour before we were back at HMHS. When we got back, we all got off the bus found our gear from the trailer and headed over to our parents to go home. The Mt. Cardigan trip was officially over.
