We started out the third day of cardigan by going to the pond. My hiking group's leader taught my group about what a pond should be like in order for it to be healthy, an example of the theme of geography movement, (ideas,) because information moved from one person to the next. Then we saw insects, and other invertebrate life. Using nets, and plastic containers the students moved insects from the pond, to the table. After documenting what we saw in our sketchbooks, my hiking group moved on to the woods. First we explored a clearing where there was an old car, and ski trails. We estimated that the car had been moved to the forest so it's motor could power a ski lift-an example of objects moving-. Around lunchtime we walked a bit of the nature trail, where we arrived near a stream. Just in time for lunch! At the stream one person climbed on a log, and the idea caught on, soon a handful of people were crossing the water via the logs. After we moved back to near the lodge we started playing camouflage. Soon it was time to go, and the bus took all of the students back to school, moving away from Cardigan.
