Day 2 I woke up and went downstairs to be informed that this would be the longest hike of the stay. When we started hiking up the trail some people wanted to race to the summit of MT.Cardigan and others wanted to hike relatively slow. Some walked in between. We were advancing on Mt.Firescrew and we walked up these cool horizontal flat rocks that my group used as a stairway. Someone asked for a water break and someone noticed a big slug. So naturally someone said whoever licked it would be a prince/princess, so I guess I’m a prince now. We were seeing giant sheets of rock so we knew we were close. I was in the front and I noticed a gigantic rock resting on some smaller rocks, when the instructor came she had us put it in our notebooks labled as BFR for obvious reasons. When we were finally at the top of Firescrew we ate our lunch because everyone was hungry. We were the first ones there so the people who wanted to go fast were happy. The other group came up long after us, so long after us that we left as soon as they came up. We were in good shape to get to Cardigan first. We neared one hundred feet to the tower and it doesn’t seem like anyone’s there. So we walk slowly up we are inches away from the top and we almost crash straight into the other group. Technically we were on the tallest part first so we win, yay. We got into the lodge to change into new clothing and had free time so I played games with both my bunk buddies and soon enough it was time for the camp fire. We went into our camping group to make a skit of who would live in the zombie apocalypse. After that they had us go to the lodge, so we ran as fast as we could from the fire to our bunks. After that we slept.
