Location

The absolute location of the fire tower on the summit of Mt. Cardigan is N43 degrees 38 minutes 58 seconds, W71 degrees 54 minutes 51 seconds at an elevation of 3156 ft. Seeing as absolute is exactly where it is, I can not really be more descriptive. The relative location of the fire tower on the summit of Mt. Cardigan is approximately 1,563 ft. away from the AMC Cardigan lodge. It is also approximately 2,907 ft. away from the alpine bogs on the summit of Firescrew. This fire tower is also about 30.54 miles away from Hopkinton Middle/High School.

Place

Mt. Cardigan is physically a very special place. It has Multiple mountains, a lot of trees, streams that go all over the place, rock faces, Mushrooms lining the ground, small plants all over the place, and even a waterfall. The trees start out as being many, many different kinds of trees, but then slowly become more sparse, and mainly Evergreens. Towards the top there are rock faces that you can walk up, but it might be useful to use your hands. When I say waterfall, I mean a real, honest to goodness waterfall, coming from a rock water slide, made specially for said waterfall.

Mt Cardigan has numerous features that make it culturally interesting (in terms of Geography!.). It is home to blazes, cairns, trails, a fire tower, a lodge, old cellar holes, and on the summit, some graffiti-ish painting. For the most part, this all linked together in the trail system. The blazes and cairns show the way along the trail, which was cleared by the hard work of many humans, to get from the lodge, and then to the fire tower. The one thing that does not fit into that, would be the graffiti-ish painting on the summit. People were trying to say how precious our Earth is, but in the process, messing with the beautiful forces of nature, luckily in not that bad of a way, but still bad. It is vandalism.

I was there for three days of the week; Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I wasn't there for the majority of Sunday though.
