On day two, everyone in my room woke up at the early hour of about 6:45. We traveled downstairs and got some hot chocolate. After this, we all sat on the couch and relaxed until a delicious breakfast came around. Once everyone had woken up and got changed, we had breakfast, which consisted of muffins, bacon, juice, and fruit. At that point, we all went up to our rooms to pack our bag and prep for the longest hike we would be having - hiking Mount Cardigan and Firescrew.

After all of the preparation, we met back at our meeting spots and received the lunches that we would have on the trail. We also were able to pick an organic fruit for along the way from a local farm down the street.

After my hiking group headed out, we stopped and enjoyed a few activities for along the trail. We also sketched many plants and landscapes and learned about the areas of a mountain: the foothills, the hardwood zone, the boreal zone, and the alpine zone. We each collected cards that obtained a different plant that we would have to find along the trail. My group also learned about some edible plants along the way, including Indian cucumber.

Once we attained the peak of Firescrew, we had a break for an excellent lunch. Our group undoubtedly enjoyed the hearty sandwiches but quickly got back to the trail. The hike from Firescrew to Cardigan was shorter than I had anticipated, but it was still relatively steep. When we arrived at the peak of Cardigan, my group, along with others, took a lovely moment to allow the scenery of foliage sink in. Everyone from our school that was at the top captured pictures, then we all got back on the trail, but not without sketching the view first. On the way down, we continued to sketch and consume Indian cucumbers. When we got to the bottom, we stopped and engaged in yet another game and talked about what we learned on the hike.

Finally, we had free time, dinner, storytime and went to bed after the tedious day of strenuous work and learning. This whole day was an example of a region because we moved into many unfamiliar areas. For example, we walked from the region of Alexandria, New Hampshire to Orange, New Hampshire. In addition to this, we also walked through regions of the forest and diverse regions within this forest.
