Day 1 (Movement to Cardigan)

On Day 1 of Cardigan, we instantly started off the memorable day by hopping on a bus and venturing up to the picturesque town of Alexandria, New Hampshire. This part of the trip is an example of movement because a group of people and/or things were moving to a new location (Temporarily, in this case.) After arriving, we unloaded our bags from the trailer and set up our beds. Before this, we did some activities as a whole group to help bond with the guides.

After, we got our guides and hiking groups. When we all met up, we did a few bonding activities. Then, we all dispersed and changed into hiking clothes and packed up for the trip. We carefully filled up our waters and met at the meeting spots. After this, we hopped on our local trails and got going. The trail led us to a miraculous place called Welton Falls.

Along the trail, we spotted a historic cellar, a brook, a stranded shoe, and so much more. When we got to Welton Falls, we enjoyed a delicious snack and sketched the stunning waterfall. We headed back, had free time, a scrumptious dinner, changed into our night clothes, had a story read to us, and we went to bed after preparing for the bigger adventure yet to come.
