On day 2 I woke up, excited knowing that I would be reaching the summit of Cardigan mountain. As the team geared up, we got our lunches, and took off. By the start you could tell that some were faster hikiers than others. As we started to make headway we stopped to sketch the boreal tree zone. We sketched there, the guides looking over at our sketches, while we looked over at theirs to see what was on their paper. Halfway there you could see some of the view but I did not look back because I wanted it to be a surprise. We moved closer and closer to the summit. Sketching here and there. One sketch was of the alpine tree zone. This sketch was a good one for me because I put a lot of effort into it. The crew made it to fire screw. We ate lunch, and enjoyed the view. With one more big stretch of hiking, and one bathroom break for me, we reached the summit. I took a few pictures with my GoPro, and enjoyed the 360 degree view of New Hampshire. Up there it was cold. With the wind blowing fast, you were almost forced to put on a coat because it was so gusty. The hike down was normal. Sketching here and there, and talking about what the world would be like without mountains. And other very odd stuff like that.
