On the second day of our cardigan field trip we made the treacherous climb to the summit of cardigan mountain. On the way up we found an orange slug. As a joke someone asked if they could lick it, and imagine our surprise when the group leader said that we could. Only three or four of us actually did it, including me. Most of cardigan is covered with forest, but at the top is a region that only made out of stone. Speaking of region, did you know cardigan has a dense alpine region, and is a part of the region we call New Hampshire. That’s right, New HAmpshire is considered a region! It was a steep and hard climb up it, but once you get to the top of cardigan it’s flat and easy to walk around. Going back down it was weird, We had to walk vertically down until we got back to the forested area. After that we visited the high cabin, before moving on and going back to the lodge.
