Day Two
Amaya B.
Human Environment Interactions
On September 27, 2018, the second day at Cardigan, we woke up and had took showers. We went downstairs at 6:30 am and ate at 7:30. During the time we ate we decided what kind of sandwhich we wanted for lunch on the hike. After we ate we had around 30 minutes to get ready (NO COTTON!!!) and meet outside with our hiking groups. Our group leader, Andy, handed out group snacks to different people to carry. Then we went on our hike. It took a long time, my group summited 2 mountains; Fire Screw and Cardigan.Half way up Fire Scew, we ate lunch. We also all listened to Grace talk about colleges for a while. After we ate lunch we kept hiking to get to the top of Fire Screw. Once we summited Fire Screw, it had been about an hour since lunch, so we ate next to a small body of water. And then we hiked up Cardigan, only 2 of the groups summited 2 mountains and my group was the last group to get to the top. We were on cardigan for a while and had a snack and then took off on the rest of our hike. On the way down from the mountain some people said they needed to go to the bathroom, so we went off trail and took a different one to go to a bathroom. There was a small cabin with a bathroom on the outside. We stayed there for a little while to eat and take some sketches. When we finished the little break we took off with the rest of our hike down. The rest of the hike was pretty long and boring, nothing much to it.
The theme of geography I am showing for the second day at Cardigan is human environment interactions. On our way up the first mountain (Fire Screw), Pablo, Mason and I came across some streams, we decided it would be fun to mess around with them. What we did was make small damns to play around with water flow. We also picked up rocks out of the water to make the water flow with more speed.
