Day One

Regions
On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, half of the 7th grade boarded a bus to head off to Cardigan. When we arrived, we played multiple games such as tag games and name games. After we spent some time playing games we sorted out into hiking groups, we then walked over to the trailer and bus to bring al of our stuff and unpack in our bunk rooms. As we were finishing up in our rooms, they told us to get ready to go on a hike. As soon as we got ready for the hike, we moved outiside and sat in different areas around the AMC lodge depending on which hiking group you were assigned to. On my hike, my group spotted a banana slug resting on a tree. My group instructor, Andy, told us that if you eat a banana slug your mouth will get numb. Of course we didn't belive such thing so to prove it to us, Andy licked it and minutes later he was complaining that he could not feel his tongue. After our hike we made our way back to the lodge to have some free time. After that we ate and then Mr. Woolner told some stories, we then went up to our rooms and went to sleep.
The theme of geography that I am showing is region. Cardigan mountain is a forest region. The area is surrounded by forest. We went on a hike the first day, they called it a nature hike. We hiked through the Cardigan Forest Region, we were hiking for probably 3 hours, and didn't cover much land. The Cardigan Forest Region is very large, about 5,555 acres of land. The trees are everywhere except the summit of Cardigan where it is just rock. On the top of Fire Screw there are trees but not very many, it's not like when we are on the ground, it isn't completely filled and surrounded by trees.
