The peak of Mount Cardigan is located at exactly 43.649755 degrees latitude, -71.914801 degrees longitude, and 3126 feet above average sea level. It is also just south of firescrew, east off of the AMC Cardigan Lodge, and north of South Peak and Orange Mountain. Apart from mountains, Mount Cardigan is directly south of Dorchester, west of Newfound Lake, and southwest of Rumney. In a broader perspective, Mount Cardigan is east of Vermont, southwest of Maine, north of Massachusetts, and south of Canada. Mount Cardigan is also west of the Mount Cardigan AMC Lodge, southwest of the ski mountain Loon, and directly north of our town of Hopkinton.

Mount Cardigan is a unique mountain in western New Hampshire, with rivers, streams, and impressive cliffs. With miles and miles of well blazed trails, you can spend quality time with New Hampshire wilderness. Often times you can spot animal signs, such as deer tracks, or owl calls. But you don't have to climb a mountain though to have a great time, if you are the person that likes short nature hikes, like Welton falls, where you can enjoy the spectacular views of nature without climbing a mountain.

You can spend time at Cardigan Mountain AMC lodge, which is conviently located an hour and ten minutes from Concord, the capital of New Hampshire. The AMC lodge has four main floors, the first one has a mud room where you can put your muddy hiking boots, and a library, where you can read peacefully by the fire. The second floor is where you can eat on wooden benches family style. The third and fourth floor are where bedrooms are located. Each bedroom has around three bunk beds, so five or six people can sleep comfortably in one room.

We enjoyed the hospitalities of the Cardigan Mountain AMC Lodge for 3 days, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
