They set off and went to Gomera and had the Nina;s triangle sails replaced with new square sails. On the way to Gomera one of the ships, Pinta already had a rudder damage, Columbus thought it was a sabotage but got it fixed and carried on. While in Germera. Columbus had fell in love with the vonnore’s wife who was now a widow because her husband had been killed by Canary Islanders. She was later the ruler of Grand Canary Island but was killed for reasons we don’t know but there are many theories.
