Summary:Columbus sailed from Europe in an attempt to prove that the world was much smaller than everyone thought. He attempted to prove to everyone that he could sail around the world and come out in Asia. He sailed down the west coast of Africa until he came to the Canary islands. Where they restocked their supplies and continued. They traveled due west until they could not see land. The crew started worrying that they would all die. Then they saw land however it was not land. They kept sailing until they noticed birds flying alongside the boat. They continued after the birds and soon came to land
