Information about islands in 3 island groups.

The Greater Antillies are made up of mutiple islands such as Cuba (the largest island out of all of them), Hispanola (the island shaped like a deformed boot), Jamaica (the one under all the others), and the Bahamas . Near the Greater Antilles are the Lesser Antilles. These are made up of many, many small islands.

Who: The people are very diverse. Some of them are: Descendants from African slaves Spanish French British Some Dutch

What: The what of this article is the West Indies.

When: In 1960 they declared independance. In 1984 when the CBI created.

Where: They are separating the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean sea.

Why: I learned why the islands have their shape and forms.


"I Wonder Questions": think of three (3) questions that you could ask about the article that were not answered in the article or were only partially answered.

1. How large are the smaller islands of the West Indies? In square miles.

2. The temperatures are not super high, why aren't they way more warm than here?

3. Why don't most countries pass a law protecting all forests like some of the West Indies? Other than we need paper, and other resources from trees.
