This is a drawing that I created in paint of the tidal zones: Black, white, brown, and red.

My zone is the red zone. (aka intertidal zone)This zone is visible at low tide and covered with water during the high tides. The red zone gets it's color because of the alge/bacteria that grows on it.

The tidal zones get their names based on the colors that are seen on the rocks. These colors are created due to different bacteria/fungi that grows on the rocks in that specific zone. maybe have some links...
