My trip to Cardigan Mountain
On the first day of are three day excertion to cardigan mountain we started by meeting in a circle in the open feild. We were split into groups and are group met at the fire pit. We decieded that today we would hike to the beaver pond. On day one a theme that was present was Human Environment Interaction. While we were walking along the trail to the beaver pond we saw many trail markers and blazes painted on trees. We saw a cellar hole along the way to the beaver pond. These are both good examples of humans affecting the environment. People make cellars holes which affects the environment. Trail blazes are painted on trees and rocks and trees are removed from the trails. This affects the environment by moving trees and clearing rocks. The environment affects humans by making them choose what clothing they should wear. If it was freezing cold you would not wear a tee shirt and shorts. These are the many reasons why Human Environment Interaction is present at Cardigan Mountain on day one. On are travels we ran across a cellar hole which had geocash in it. We also came across a frog whch blended in nearly perfect with the leaves on the ground. Once we arrived back at the lodge we had an hour of free time then went down for dinner which was tacos. When the sun went down we split back up into our groups and did a night hike. Are group went to the hill and did some games were we pretended to be bats. At the end of the night hike we went back to our cabins and went to sleep.
