Hiking Five mountains.

from October 4-6

Location There are two ways to describe location, there is absolute and relative location. Absolute location is its exact place on Earth, often given in terms of latitude and longitude take Cardigan mountain for example, its absolute location is 43.6498 degrees N laditude, 71.9148 degrees W longatude. On the cardigan trip we used the GPSs to mark the absolute location of sketches of trees, plants, rocks and other things that involved physical and cultural geography! And GPSs use absolute location to mark waypoints.

The other kind of location is relative location. Relative location is describing the position of one place by relating it with other places in its vicinity for example, Mt. Cardigan it's in between Mt. Fire Screw and West Ridge which is another mountain smaller than Cardigan Place

Place

The physical properties of Mt. Cardigan

Mt. Cardigan was covered and surrounded by forest both deciduous and coniferous trees. Due to a wild fire the tops of Mt. Cardigan and Fire Screw are not covered in forest but are bare rock. Near the middle of the trip up the mountain the trails became very steep and many rock formations, some of them were very large and others were small, some of them had small cracks and others were completely split in half. At the top of the mountain it was very windy and cooler than at the bottom. All throughout cardigan the ground, trees and plants were very moist. The rivers on Cardigan and around it were populated with many different creatures like salamanders, mosquito larvae, fly larvae and others.

The cultural properties of mount cardigan

The Mt. Cardigan trip was very culturally inclined because we played games, told stories and riddles, did song battles and skits! There were multiple Huts on and around cardigan. The AMC hut our group stayed in had a lot of books and was extremely cozy, my only complaint was with the showers. When it was time for stories during the hike at the end of the day we always would listen to stories of the past. The Mt. Cardigan trip was very involved with cultural geography!

We were at cardigan for three days Wednesday , Thursday and Friday.
