My One of a Kind Trip to Cardigan

Cultural At the Cardigan AMC lodge the cultural things that describe it are the facts that it is a 3 storey tall building with a basement. The basement has a mudroom and storage, the first floor has the kitchen, cafeteria, and common area, the second floor is the girls/guest floor and the third floor is where the boys stay. There is a small gravel road leading to the lodge with a gravel parking lot in front. There is also field of solar panels next to the lodge because it is completely powered by solar energy.

Physical

The physical description of Cardigan mountain is that it is surrounded by protected woods and lots of streams including a breathtaking waterfall. Also, the top of the peak is bare rock that makes the views spectacular. There are also an unbelievable amount of glacial erratics at cardigan. Another physical description of Cardigan Mountain is that near the top of the mountain the only trees that can live at that elecation are spruce trees. Lastly, on the top of Firescrew Mountain, the peak just to the North of Cardigan there is a very rare and fascinating alpine bog.

Location- Relative Location

The relative location of Cardigan AMC lodge is that it is in Alexandria New Hampshire in the cardigan mountain state forest. Also, it is directly to the west of Newfound lake and an hour or more from Hopkinton New Hampshire.

Absolute Location

The coordinates of Cardigan Lodge are 43 degrees 38 min 58.6 sec N and 71 degrees 87 min 45 sec W.

First Day at Cardigan

On the first day at cardigan, Sunday we hiked the lower nature trail, on Monday we hiked cardigan, fireskrew, rimrock, and sout peak. On Tuesday my group hiked to Welton Falls.
