Cardigan Mountain is one of the beautiful mountains of the Appalachian Mountains. Now where is it located, you ask? Well no worries. The summit of Cardigan is located at 43 degrees North, 38 minutes, and 57 seconds for latitude. The longitude is -71 degrees West, 54 minutes, and 59 seconds. The elevation of the mountain is roughly 3543.3 ft or 1.08 kilometers. Not into all of the fancy numbers? Well no problem. Cardigan Mountain is located 2.6 miles away from the AMC lodge. This mountain is in the town Alexandria. The mountain is about 55 miles away from Hopkinton, New Hampshire. So, using latitude and longitude or towns and landmarks we can show the absolute or general location of Mount. Cardigan.

Cardigan Mountain is surrounded by many beautiful things. There are many kinds of trees such as Maple, Birch, and Oak. There are also some streams, like the one that we past on the nature loop trail, and a waterfall called Welton Falls. Thirdly, the lodge is surrounded by woods, where various creatures such as deer, squirrels, owls, bear, ticks, or even racoons could live. There are also a lot of rocks on the trails and at the top of the mountain. On the trails, there are some areas that are blanketed in squishy moss, and covered in sticks. To conclude, Cardigan is located around many astounding things in nature.

When we arrived at cardigan, there was an AMC lodge. Now, lets take a brief tour through the lodge. At the entrance, there is a place to put your shoes and a small lounge area. Then, after you walk up the stairs, you reach the next level, the kitchen, dining area, and fireplace lounge. This is where we ate breakfast, dinner, and Mr. Woolner read us stories. Then if you travel up the stairs more, there is the girls floor. There are about 4-6 bunks in each room, and each room was named after some sort of animal like moose or butterfly. If you travel up the stairs again, you will get to the boys floor, which I have no knowledge of what it looks like. Outside the lodge on one side were a bunch of solar panels and on the other side was a moderate sized activity field. To sum it up, cardigan was a great place to be.

We were there for 3 days. Sunday, October 1st, Monday, October 2nd and Tuesday, October 3rd. It was fun.
