Summary: _This article discusses Columbus’s final days on Hispaniola in January of 1493 after a confrontation with some natives, Columbus thought it best to head back home. The two ships- the Pinta and Nina- set a course of 56 degrees, but ran into horrible weather on February 12th. The next day the Pinta disappeared. They stopped briefly on the island of Santa Maria in the Azores after the storm had passed. They were going to church and they got arrested because the Portuguese thought they were trouble. They arrived in Portugal on March 4

Sometimes we don't have school on Columbus day. The article talks about changing Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day. I want it to stay Columbus Day because he found chili peppers and hammocks and corn.
