On Wednesday, September 28, 2016 my class went on a trip to go hiking at Mt. Cardigan. Mt. Cardigan is located at longitude and latitude is 43, 38 and 58.4 north. The longitude is 71 54 and 51.7 west. It is part of Cardigan Mountain State Forest and is near Orange, NH. We stayed at the Cardigan Lodge which is located at the bottom of the mountain.

While visiting Mt. Cardigan, we went hiking four times. The air on the mountain was cold and we had to wear warm clothes. We saw beautiful views of trees and plant life on the hike. We saw a tree during the hike that was actually two trees attached to each other. It was weird because they did not swirl around each other, instead, they literally had branches attached to each other. We sketched pictures of things we saw along the way. It was very windy and the pages of my sketchbook blew around while I was drawing. My friends and I also had fun running and jumping on the boulders we saw on the summit.

The trails we hiked were man made. There were many trails to choose from. One of the trails led to a fire tower which was on stilts. It was used as a lookout point. A different trail had a broken down car beside it. The car had been there a long time. It was rusty and had green moss growing on it. From the top of the mountain, we could see windmills, buildings, roads, and a manmade pond located beside the Cardigan Lodge. We were there for Sunday. and monday and tuesday Creative Commons License
