It affects the Earth's climate because the sun hits the Earth in different ways because of the tilt. On the equator it is hotter because the sun is direct changing the climate there. The climate there is different than the climate here because the sun's rays hit here indirectly so it's not always direct sunlight here.
6. How does this relate to the Voyages of Columbus?
This is related to the Voyage of Columbus because the wind patterns correlate to how fast and slow Columbus sailed throughout his journey. There was one area where there was no wind at about 30 degrees. Then he had a lot of wind and moved very quickly. And when he started off he went fairly quickly. He did this because of the global wind patterns.
