1. Write down the main idea of the chapter "Climate" here. Climate is very different from weather. It is measured by the extremes of the temperature and precipitation that and area can have.

2. Reading Check Questions on 54- What is the difference between weather and climate? Weather refers to the unpredictable changes in air that take place over a short period of time. Climate is the constant temperature.

5. Answer the Reading Check Question on page 55- How does the tilt of the Earth affect climate?

The time that the seasons come are a result of the earth tilting. Summer happens when the hemisphere is tilted toward the sun, and winter happens when the hemisphere is tilted away from the sun.

6. How does this relate to the Voyages of Columbus? Answer, and put in a link to YOUR Columbus Wind Project. It relates because Columbus knew where the winds were when he was sailing. He purposly sailed south before sailing across the ocean.
