My Trip To Cardigan

Cardigan mountain is located in Canaan. The AMC lodge is also located in Canaan. When you get there you will see a couple trails and a big lodge that looks like a house. If you were to go to the backyard then you would see a big fire pit with some benches around it. There is a nice deck off the side of the lodge. There are a bunch of different trails you can go on. For example, Cardigan, Firescrew and the Falls. All these places are great to hike. If you are not wanting to do a big hike that day you can just hike the nature trail. It's not too short but it's not too long. There are no sign trails saying how much longer to go but in a way that's good because then you don't have to worry about how much longer you can just hike!
Some cool places to go when you visit Cardigan is the falls. This is a good trail to bring pets because it not a hard trail and it is not a steep trail. The falls is a very pretty place. There is a cool little cliff and you can go under that then there is a lookout. This is not a long hike at all. If anything it is one of the shortest. It may be short but there is a lot to see!!! I think that the coolest place at cardigan was the top of the mountain. You could see so much from there like the lodge and it was a nice day out and we could see so much it was soooooo pretty. Going down the mountain is fun because it is a flat trail and very easy. If you do go to Cardigan then this is a have to. This is one of the more longer hikes so make sure you come prepared. This trail is great if you like hiking with your dogs. They can get up it easy there are just a couple places where they would need help. The trail is very nice and I had so much fun. We were there for three days. Sunday September 25, Monday September 26, and Tuesday September 27.
