Day 2 at Mount Cardigan

The next morning we woke up and went downstairs to the region of tables for breakfast which was eggs, sausage and bacon. After that we went upstairs to get on our hiking gear. We got in our hiking groups and head off to the region of the hiking trails. As we started off Ellie and I got to be the group leaders, which we called ourselves, B1 and B2 (boss 1 and boss 2). On the way there we took lots of sketching breaks. During the sketch breaks we did something called line transect. Which is where Andy put down a line and we had to walk across the region with our arms sticking out and whatever is under the arms you have to write down. I sketched stuff like leaves interesting fungi, and views. At one of the false summits we stopped for lunch which was turkey and cheese plus a cookie and an apple. Along the way we picked up a B3: Quinn. We led the way all the time and nobody could cut in front of us. At another false summit we stopped and sketched then kept walking. When we were almost to the top of mount Firescrew, we stopped to take pictures of ourselves. Our team name was the seven spartans because when we asked how long the hike was our how much time it would take us to get there Andy would answer 7 hours or 7 miles. We were called the spartans because we were tough and we never gave up. Some poses that we made was a seven shape and kids did handstands at the edge of the mountain. When we got to the top of Firescrew we could see mount Cardigan. There was people that we knew on top so we waved and shouted Hi! to them. It took us about half an hour to get up to Cardigan region from where we were. When we were almost there we saw friends that had just climbed mount Cardigan. They said it was awesome and cold up there. They were right, the view was awesome and it wa really cold and windy up there. At the top we took along time to sketch look around and eat some snacks. Coming down the mountain took along time because we had to stop alot and rest. At some points it was really steep so we had to sit on our butts and slide down. It felt like forever to get down. Along the way we found a broken ladder and put our head through it and Lance (Quinns dad) took a picture of us. We also found a bridge and sat down and ate M&Ms on. After forever we got back to the lodge and took showers and chilled out. For dinner we sat at the dining hall region and had lasagna and for dessert we had ice cream sundaes. Then we went to the campfire area and sang songs, told stories and made up skits about the nose hat that we had made up earlier. Then it we went to bed.
