Day 1 at Mount Cardigan

Getting off the bus I looked at the lodge surrounded by the pure environment that we would be staying near for the next 3 days. A young girl corralled us to a fire pit with logs from the large forest behind us, substituted as chairs around it. The girl introduced herself as Gretchen. Along with a man named Andy, and another girl named Fern. They said we would play a game like sharks and minnows. The game was fun especially after the long bus ride. Finally they let us go into our rooms to get changed for hiking. When everybody was outside we got introduced our groups, I was with Andy, Ellie, Katelyn, Zach, Quinn, Tessa, Finn, Gabe, Vincent and Audria. When everyone was ready we headed for the trails. We were hiking to Welton Falls. In the environment we hiked on human made trails. Every five or so minutes we would stop, take a break and sketch. When we got to a good sketch point we would take our packs off and explore around the trails. At Welton Falls there was lots of human-made items in the environment . Like the metal railing that kept us from falling into the falls. On our way back to lodge we had some solo time (as Andy called it) in the woods, then we would get m&ms based on how good we were. After a shower we had chill time where we could stay by the inside fire or go outside. For dinner that night we had tacos. That is when we learned about ORT. Then we went on a night hike, where we played games and did team building activities, like when Andy put blindfolds on us and we walked around the woods when we could not see. Along the way we learned some owl calls in the woods, then all of a sudden Finn jumped out of the bushes and everybody freaked out. Then he got in trouble. After that happened, Mr. Woolner read us a story about pirates. Then we went to bed.
