The pain in my legs wakes me. Looking at the time I see it's 7:00. Right on time. Slowly I climb down the ladder and get ready to seize a long day of hiking. We pack up because sadly it is our last day here. I put my stuff in the trailer then head back inside. I go down to the dining hall and see french toast for breakfast. After eating a filling breakfast, we go make our lunches. After we find our groups outside. Tj had to teach a class at a college and Toby left because he was sick so Mr Woolner was our group leader. We were going to do a small hike that day. We started down the trail to the Nature Trail loop then keep stopping to observe different species along the way. After slowly making our way through the trail, we came to a place where Mr Woolner showed us something special. There was a line of dead trees going all the way through this part of the forest. On either side there were baby trees. This made me think of regions. We were in Alexandria, NH at Cardigan and inside the area Cardigan was this small area that had dead then new trees. After looking at this strange occurrence, we started to do the mystery of the trees. We walked around and looked at different types of trees and found them by using a compass. Once we had finished that we walked up a ski trail and had lunch by the old pulley system. There was an old rusty car and the old wheels the people would hold onto to be pulled up. Then we walked back to the lodge then departed back home. Overall, Cardigan was an amazing experience and I am so glad I had the opportunity to go.
