BLUE COLOR GROUP

1. Write down the main idea of the chapter "Climate" here.

Climate is different and special in each area.

2.What is the difference between weather and climate?

"Weather refers to unpredictable changes in the air that take place over a short period of time, and climate is the predictable pattern of weather in an area."

3. In which general direction does the wind blow over North America?

Northeastern

4. What winds did European sailors use to get to South America and the islands north of it?

Northeasternly trade winds

5. How does the tilt of the Earth affect climate?

In my own words, the tilt of the earth affects earth's climate largely. When it's when it's hotter out in seasons like spring and summer, the earth's hemisphere is tilted towards the sun. . also in the winter the earth hemisphere is tilted away from the sun so the sunlight is indirect and therefore colder.

6. How does this relate to the Voyages of Columbus.

On his way there, he went down to about 60 degrees and "sunk" downward with the wind and continued forward. Then, on the way back, he went up with the rising winds, but then ended up in between the winds, at 30 degrees without moving much.
