Underwater volcanoes formed the islands of the West Indies. That, and pressure from the earth moving tectonic plates. Also, a volcano called Montserrat created a large island in the Caribean called Montserrat, named after the famous volcano.

Farming is the major industry in the West Indies.

The first settlement in the West Indies was in Hispaniola, made up of Haiti, which I'm doing my island project on, and The Dominican Rebublic.

The greater Antilles, The lesser Antilles, and The Bahamas.

History- Name four groups who have influenced the culture of the Caribbean region.

The Spanish, French, English, and the Dutch. Although, many other cultures affected the Caribbean region, too.

Government- How is Cuba different from every other country in the Western Hemisphere?

Cuba is the only Full-Blown Communist country in the Western hemisphere
