My First Day at Cardigan Mountain

Sept. 25 2016

Green Group (D1 B4)

By Louisa P.

On day one we arrived on the bus and got off to find we couldn't unpack yet, and that we weren't going to eat lunch until we were on the trail. But since we were all starving, they let us eat lunch. Then it turns out we could go upstairs and get changed. We found out our groups and I was placed with a woman named Gretchen. Our group headed to Welton Falls down the Lower Manning trail. On our journey there we stopped and explored the stream with small nets. We found a dead frog in the left sector of the river . After reaching the end of the Manning trail we found a road and looked at the map to find we had ventured past the green region of the map which was Mount Cardigan State Forest. Then we had dinner and listened to Mr. Woolner's story in the AMC lodge in Alexandria, New Hampshire.
