Day 3: Regions

In the past two days we traveled to a lot of different areas and places. The top of Firescrew with all the rock and little patches of vegetation, the big rock slope from Firescrew to Cardigan, and most importantly the top of Cardigan with the Cardigan fire watch post at the top. Last and final day 3. Woke up somewhat late that morning, did not know if it was because I was tired or I did not want to leave. I woke up feeling groggy in the condensed room piled with bags and bags of clothes (mostly Abbys). Time to say goodbye, I said to myself as I started to throw all my clothes is my bag. Once packed proceeded down stairs as usual but put my stuff in the back of the trailer in the cold mist.

Still tired and groggy I went to have a delicious french toast breakfast that woke me right up in the nice home like wooden dining room. After breakfast we went outside into the cool mist to figure out what we were gonna do the last remaining hours here. We decided to go on a nice minicircle on a trail by the road where all the colors of the leaves dances across the forest floor. After we met back in the beginning of the circle we went on solo hikes.

Solo hikes are what the name implies; you hike by yourself. It was kind of peaceful at first seeing all the different trees and plants by yourself instead of with a noisy group of people. You see a lot more things in nature when you're by yourself. I did manage to get myself lost at the intersection between paths. Zach, Gabe, and I walked all the way back to the lodge just to end up turning around to go the other way to find the group. We passed a mini lake that was murky yet somewhat welcoming. Finally we found the group waiting for us but when we got there it was a path we have never been on before, we decided to eat lunch in the middle of the path which was kind of on hill. Once everybody finished lunch we started on another solo hike back to the lodge; another peaceful lonely hike. Finally back to the lodge but we went past it into the campgrounds scattered with pine needles and logs everywhere. Andy gave us our final evaluation for the past three days and M&Ms. Once we got back we were rushed onto the stuffy crowded bus yet to say goodbye to an amazing experience. There are many regions at Cardigan mountain yet many beautiful places to explore.
