The difference between weather and climate is that weather is what it is like outside each day and climate is the usual weather in a certain area. Climate is basically the trend of weather in an area.

The winds generaly blow Northeast (blowing from the west), over North America. These are called the Westerlies winds.

4. Applying Map Skills Question 2. What winds did European sailors use to get to South America and the islands north of it?

The Europeans used the Northeasterly winds to travel to South America and the islands north of it.

The tilt of the earth affects the climate because the main source of climate comes from the sun and depending on how the earth is tilted, the climate will be different. If the tilt of the earth is one way, it will affect how warm or cold the climate is.

6. How does this relate to the Voyages of Columbus?

This all relates to Columbus and his voyages because Columbus had to use some of these winds to travel to the islands that he discovered. When traveling he had to know where the winds were for him to be able to travel successfully.
