Location is one of the five themes of Geography! The cardigan summit is an example of a location. The absolute location of the summit is N 43 degrees, 38 minutes, 58.4 seconds, W 071 degrees, 54 minutes, 51.7 seconds. Absolute location is latitude and longitude. The relative location of the summit of Cardigan is West of Alexandria Center, but is partially in orange. Relative location is using landmarks or objects to say where something is. Location is a very important theme of Geography!
Cardigan is a very special and different place. The top of the mountain is bare rock. This is because of a fire. However lower down on the mountain there are lots of roots. These roots are quite hazardous when going up or down the mountain. There is a lot of moss starting to grow in many places on top. Those are some of the more prominent physical features.
Cardigan is a very special and different place for many other reasons. One of those reasons is there are two apple trees that are very out of place that people planted. There are also lots of trails that people have made over the years. The biggest reason is the AMC lodge. Those are some of the cultural features of Cardigan.
We were there for three very long days Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday .
