My Magical Trip At Cardigan

Location

The location of the summit of Mount Cardigan is like no other. Cardigan is east of Firescrew and it's absolute location of the summit of Cardigan is N 43 degress 39 minutes 11.1 seconds and W 71 degress 54 minutes 49.4 seconds. It has a fire tower to look across the land and you can see the AMC lodge from the summit. While we were visiting, it had a few big puddles in the rocks from the rain overnight. You could see Firescrew peak clearly because it was less than a mile away. At the top of Mt. Cardigan you can see the views for 13 miles. To get to the summit there was a steep climb with vegetation like the mountain cranberry. This is how the summit of Cardigan is like no other. Cardigan is full of unique surprises and characteristics so when you can try and check it out.

Physical Features

At cardigan there are many physical features that you can see from nose high to feet low. Cardigan is full of many describing physical features that you can see. For example, at the top of cardigan there is bare rock with a thin layer of Mika covering the surface to give specks of green to the rocks. We also saw Bailey Brook a beautiful stream that was full of leaves, rocks and dead logs laying across the stream. Another interesting thing we saw was Walten Falls which had a steep edge and a large drop into a small swimming pool. In addition on top of firecreage the next mountain over there was a glacial earties. It was formed by the glaciers that once covered the earth. Then from the surface of the ground there was fungi growing in the wet area of the forest. Cardigan has many great features that you can see.

Culture

One of the greatest things about Cardigan is the culture the you adapt to from the great woods to the AMC lodge. One of the fun cultures from the AMC lodge is the campfire. The stories we told, the fun games we played and the plays we watched and the fun and interesting things we learned. Another example, of the Cardigans culture was the old rusty punch buggy car that has been sitting there for years on Dukes ski Trail. One of the biggest things of culture in the AMC lodge is ort. The amount of food left on your plate after you are done eating. They are trying to teach you do not take as much food as you think you need. They want us you have no left overs on out plate so it is not a waste of food. Those are some of the few examples of culture at Cardigan and at the AMC lodge offers.

We were at Cardigan for 3 days from September 25-28 2016. We there on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
