On the first day of Cardigan we arrived at the AMC lodge at about 10:00am. When we got off the bus, we went over to the fire pit and started to play sharks and minnows, but we were animals instead of minnows and the sharks were forest rangers. Then we went up to our rooms and put our bags inside and then got ready to go hiking if we were not already. Next we went outside and sat on the deck stairs so the AMC guides could introduce themselves and we could get into our hiking groups . Once we got into our hiking groups, we played a name game so our guide could know our names (guide was Gretchen). We wanted to have a group name so we could all find each other if we were not all together so, we called our group Harambe. Then we went to the front of the lodgeso we could sketch it and take the coordinates. We sat down on the cold wet grass, we weren't prepared for the weather. The enviroment changed us because we had to wear different clothes because the weather was different at Cardigan, this is an exaple of Human Enviroment Interaction. After that we started to go intothe trail where we stopped a lot to sketch. We went down to the river and walked across many rocks a lot and on the side river. We saw Welton Falls which was very tall and big, there were many posts to keep you from falling into the water but most of them were broken. When we reached the end of the trail we stopped to sketch and we saw a Ruffed Grouse run across the road. We then turned back around to go back down the trail. Again we went across the river or on the side of it to get back to the lodge while we stopped to sketch a few times. When we were almost at the end of the trail there was a house cellar where we stopped. This is also Human Environment Interaction because it showed a human has made the house in the woods not by nature. When we got back to the lodge we had an hour of free time which I used to play 500 with some other people. After we had dinner which they explained that they try to do no ort meals. Then we went for a night hike and did games where we did bat echolocation and night vision. Mr. Woolner then read stories from a book and after that we went and went to sleep, excited for the day ahead
