Day One

A little after arriving at the AMC lodge, on day one, we started to hike. We took the Manning Trail towards Welton Falls. Our region when we got to the Falls was Alexandria, NH. Also, we were near Mt. Cardigan. We were in the county of Grafton. On our way to the Falls, we saw a cellar hole. It was made of stone. This cellar hole was in the region of Mount Cardigan. It was clearly pretty old, and there was not anything on top of it. One thing our guide taught us about were the trees. We noticed that there were not a lot of pine trees. She said that was because of the region. The higher elevated regions, she said, are easier for the pines to grow in, and harder for other trees such as beech trees to grow. Then, we headed back to the lodge, where we ate dinner, read stories, and went to bed.
