Introduction Paragraph-

My island is a high island. One of the reasons I know that is because almost all of the beaches are gray or brown. Another reason is that whole villages have been wiped out because of past eruptions. An example is in june of 1997, 19 people were killed because of eruption. Also, in the december of that year 2.7 miles of forest was destroyed acording to Britannica. A reason that I know that it is not a low island is that it has elevations up to four thousand and fiftie five feet. The reason I know that it is not a continental island is that it does not have the resources from the ground. And that's why I know Montserrat is a high island.

Brief History Paragraph-

Christopher columbus discovered Montserrat when it was uninhabited, according to Britannica. Not much is known about the early history of Montserrat. The original population was probably made up of Arawak indians. Montserrat was first settled in 1632 by a British contingent from the mother colony of Saint Kitts. It quickly became a haven for Irish catholics trying to escape religious persecution. According to what's new in Montserrat, thief rates are high in present time. And that's the brief history of Montserrat.

Cool and Interesting Paragraph-

Montserrat is a very cool place. It is an overseas territory of Britain. Also, it is forty square miles and seven miles wide by eleven miles long. While Hopkinton is about fourty to five to fifty square miles. Also,I compared New Hampshire to Montserrat and found that Montserrat is about one one hundreth of New Hampshire. After the arawak indians left, carib indians moved in then moved out. While they were there, the Carib indians named it Alliouagana (Land of the Prickly Bush). And those are some fun and interesting facts about Montserrat.
