Cardigan Mountain Adventures Day TwoSeptember 22, 2016

My second day at Cardigan was astonishingly better than the first. The day started off with a home cooked meal, treating me to my absolute amazement, my mouth open not only to be amazed at the food being served, but to eat the food, kindly placed in front of me. Next, we all ventured back up the stairs to change into appropriate rain gear, hiking boots, etc. Afterwards, different groups including myself, divided up into a sort of huddle, to discuss the day ahead of us. My group was lead by Tobi, who was very funny, nice, and knew a lot of interesting facts about nature and the wilderness. Now I can say I know what a Hobble Bush is, which I did not know anything about before. Also, I now know that trees, though it may be very rare, can grow together, forming a spiral pattern, connecting to create one single tree. We had discovered a tree that appeared to be a maple tree, a hemlock tree, and another maple tree wound together which I did not think was very likely, or even possible. As we headed off, I asked which mountain we would be exploring today. To my surprise, I received an answer that scared me, but made me feel adventurous. We were hiking three mountains! I instantly headed off into the woods, right behind the leader of the group, happy as a clam. Though within about forty five minutes, I became quite fatigued, as I had been the previous day. This did not stop me and my ability to look upward, instead of down at my feet which were very tired by then. Soon, I fell behind, though not too much behind, I was still ecstatic to receive the beautiful view that was supposedly at the top of this great, big mountain. On the way we saw something amazing whuch was an old fashioned car that was droven into a tree that was now bent in an angle. When we finally arrived at the very top I was astounded with the trees, skies, birds, and so much more, it was an amazing experience I will never forget. Also, on the way back, Tobi told us about an indian thats life changed after a large drought. This really showed human environment interaction! As we made it to the lodge, I was extremely tired, but very satisfied with my day full of new enjoyments. To end the day, we had yet another delicious dinner, and a very fun campfire which included lots of funny stories and unimaginable times. This paragraph involved human environment interaction which is how people chang eht environment and how the ebvironment changes people. I was in Tobi's group were we had waypoints 3,6.
