The most amazing, diferent, unique day of the entire twelve years I have been living was the day I went to Cardigan. It was cold, quite cold in fact, with a bright sunshine shimmering down onto the bus windows. The bus moved us from hopkinton to Cardigan. The drive seemed everlasting, I was practically jumping in my seat. When we finally arrived I was overwhelmed with the gigantic, towering lodge, it seemed as though almost better than the pictures I had seen. It immediately felt like I could spend much more than three days in this luxury. As everyone, including myself start to adapt, we play many fun games, but the time flys right by.Later, we all head inside to load up our rooms with sleeping bags, clothes, hair brushes (and of course the girls rooms were much more tidy than the boys), and more. After that chaotic hassle, we go for a hike to Welton Falls which turned out to be more of a stroll than a hike, never the less it was very fascinating and I had a wonderful time. When we reached the waterfall I opened my mouth in astonishment. It was beautiful! There was water flowing down, almost flying so gracefully off the rocks, at the bottom, a large pool like body of mostly clear water rippled in the gleam of the sun. The group I was in was very intrigued as well, sitting down on a near by rock to sketch the majestic creation. Soon after we pondered over enjoying the peace, or going back to the lodge with the other groups, we decided to leave. When we got back, we waited contently for supper, and when it came we gladly took a seat at the wooden benches, happy to be eating a full meal after a long day of adventures. Satisfied, and thinking the day could not possibly get much better than this, it did! We were going on a night walk……..blindfolded. We all participated in being blind walkers for a few short minutes while walking down to a larger field, all of us linked in a long train, group leader in front. We played a very fun and clever game, this time, specializing in testing our hearing. Afterward, we did my favorite activity of the night: stargazing! As we lay on the still mildewed grass, not caring a bit about the dampness, I saw what I thought my eyes had deceived for, until fellow group members noticed it as well, a shooting star! Very satisfied with my magnificent day, we head back to the lodge blindly, this time not because of the blindfolded but because of the fact that is was almost pitch black outside. Getting into the oddly quite comfortable bottom bunk bed might have been one of the most exciting moments of the day, for tomorrow will be even better than the first.
This paragraph included one of the five themes of geography, which was movement. Movement is the transportation involving objects, animals, people, even plants to, and from. This concludes my first amazing day at Cardigan Mountain.
