The first day we got to Cardigan, it seemed very rushed. The bus took a while and it was pretty chaotic trying to put our bags into our room. There was a lot of movement of people coming from Hopkinton to Mt. Cardigan. When we got there, we met our counselors and started playing aa couple games. When we were all done playing the games, we brang our stuff up to the room, moving all of our contents that we brought. After, we packed my hiking gear into a backpack, then ate our lunch and got out on the trails. My group started on a nature walk and we saw many interesting plants and trees. Overall, that hike was about 2 miles and we moved in a loop. When we got back, we threw hacky sacks and played 500. We played that for a really long time until it was time for dinner and we went inside. For dinner it was tacos, which tasted so good. I sat at a table with Quinn W. and some other people. It was a buffet style so the tables were called up with a system of, which ever table gets this question right, gets to eat first kind of thing. After diner, we packed our bags and went back out to another hike. This time we didn't go that far, and we mostly called for owls the whole time. I heard other groups yelling and having fun, but we were sitting in the dirt trying to call for owls that all of us knew wouldn't call back or be here. But that's okay because then we went back inside and I showered and then went to bed. Our bunk talked for a long time.
