The Second Day

The first thing did was wake up. Everyone was to get dressed and go down stairs. When I got down stairs I found out that we all could have half a cup of hot coco. I served my self some some and sat down. Everyone else soon came down stairs, and then we had a breakfast of eggs and bacon. When we were done, we all went back to our rooms to pack up to go to cardigan. When I finished packing, I headed down stairs to make myself a lunch. My lunch was a ham sandwich, an apple and a cookie. After that we went outside to be with our hiking leaders. Soon we played a few games and then we went on hiking. At first it was easy, but then the hike started to get hard. It was easy when all you had to do was walk on flat ground, but soon we had to climb up. We had moved from from stable ground to hard and steep ground. We took a lot of breaks, but maybe about two or three hours after we started, we had lunch. We had lunch on a false summit near the summit of Fire Screw. At about that time, my backpack had moved from the AMC lodge to the false summit. Well, you could say that we were on one of Fire Screws false summits. The view from their was amazing! We also had lunch on the false summit. Andy told us to not walk on the grass and vegetation, so we didn't. After about ten minutes we finally reached the summit of Fire Screw. I thought that the top was going to be amazing, but it was just some big rocks and a sign about Fire Screw. On top of Fire Screw you could see Mount Cardigan! We took a quick break and then climbed up to Cardigan, but on the way there we saw a helicopter pass by Mount Cardigan! Also we passed by another group heading back down the way we came. When I saw the view of Mount Cardigan, I was amazed. You could see many beautiful trees and some towns for many many miles around! After we took a break we had to go back down - that was the hardest part of the whole thing. When we got back to the lodge, it was about four thirty. At five o'clock everyone had dinner, lasagna. When we were done we went outside and stood/sat around a bonfire. We played a game, sang a song and more. After that, we changed into our pajamas and then Mr. Woolner told everyone a bedtime story about someone in his family. After that we went to bed.
